Sierra & Jason. Damn, y’all. This is going to be one of those blog posts where I have SO much to say, but I don’t know if I’ll even have the words. I met these two when I was chosen to photograph Sierra’s sister’s wedding in Mammoth Lakes. I immediately knew that they were the kind of people that were the life of the party. When Sierra reached out to me to photograph her wedding in MEXICO, I just about lost my sh*t. After happy hour and some phone calls, it was officially happening. We went down to San Diego for their engagement photos and had the time of our lives. During their engagement photos, they told me they wanted to incorporate something that was a big part of their lives. They were both apart of the Route 91 shooting in Las Vegas together, so they brought their cowboy boots with bullet holes in them. Cue more tears. The whole way there and back consisted of blasting Celine Dion and singing throwback 90’s jams with them & their pup Callie. Everytime I see those photos all I hear is Sierra singing “CAUSE I’M YOUR LADYYYYYYYY”, and I’m not mad about it at all.
Fast forward a few weeks, we were bound for Cabo San Lucas. Sierra, Jason, and all of their family and friends treated me like family from the moment we stepped off the plane. Then it was their wedding day and it was freaking perfection. Their ceremony made me ugly cry, laugh, and then cry some more. It was followed by some awesome portraits featuring Burrito the Burro, some beautiful treehouses, and a stunning reflective pool. Their guests didn’t stop dancing for the rest of the night! They surprised everyone with a saxophone player that blew everyone out of the water. After many tequila shots and margaritas, it was time for the grande finale. To top off the night, Sierra & Jason JUMPED IN THE POOL, wedding attire & all, followed by their wedding party (and me, hehe).
The party didn’t stop there! The day after their wedding, we were invited to go with them on a beautiful sunset cruise to El Arco, a gorgeous rock feature just off the tip of Baja California. We hopped off the boat for a quick 20 minute photoshoot on “Lover’s Beach” before heading to dinner.
I can’t thank these two enough for choosing me to document their day. Sierra & Jason, thank you for being THE BEST and just for being the most genuine humans out there. I love you both!
