Our local mountains did not get a lot of snow this winter, so imagine my happiness when I looked at the forecast and saw SNOW on the only day of the week that just so happened to be when I was going to be there for an engagement session!

Maria & Steven live in Colorado but are having their wedding in Santa Barbara next summer. They love the mountains, so we decided on Big Bear for their engagement photos. After picking a date, they booked their flights to California. The day before they left Colorado, a huge snow storm hit. So they left the snow to come to more snow!

My sister and I road tripped to Big Bear early because the snow was supposed to start around noon. We ate breakfast, hiked around, and then went to the restaurant to meet up with Maria & Steven for happy hour. As we waited for them, the snow started to fall outside and it was like a winter wonderland! We had a margarita and then started the photos. It was absolutely FREEZING but these two were champs! I can’t wait for their sunny (and warm) wedding next summer 🙂
